I take a 2010 F-150 FX4, supercrew shortbox.  It has a trailer tow package and a 5.four V8 motor.  I am looking at purchising a Sundowner 6906 2 horse.  I accept been told I can tow information technology with my shortbox with a B&W hitch and possibly a half dozen inch extension...

Need your thoughts and expertise.

There will exist many chime in here. My i question- does information technology have an escape door? If so, the axles will be at the back and it will take a higher than normal tongue weight factor.

look at the olfactory organ of the GN and brand sure yous have room to brand turns. If you accept the 5'five ft box, you are prob in trouble, with a 6'5 ft box you should take more play room.B&W simply makes a 4inch extension, and i think brusk makes a 5": make sure all parts are uniform. The also make extension for the bodily trailer and they will push the trailer dorsum, but won't requite yous and extra room at 90degrees or so.

B&Due west makes a ten' pull back attachment that attaches to the trailer itself.  Withal trying to make up one's mind on the 8906 RS Sundowner.  Several dealers have stated that they accept sold several to pull with the shortbox F-150.

If in doubt, don't do information technology. You need to upgrade your truck or downgrade a trailer. Good luck.

Have you seen the ads for the Shadow Stablemate Living Quarter? They have a 3 horse with a nine' shortwall and a slide, that is towed with a 2011 F150 with a tow package.

You can get whatsoever gooseneck into your cab if y'all try difficult plenty. With the B&W adaptable hitch and the Stablemate Living Quarter existence half-dozen broad, you shouldn't have any problems.

I pull my 2006 Sundowner 2H straightload with a F150. I had a 2010 F150 and a month ago traded upwardly to a 2011 F150 with the Ecoboost engine and tow package. I am so pleased with how this new truck pulls, compared to my concluding truck with a V8. This truck has a stiffer suspension, although I do programme to add Timbrens to it. Had them on my last truck, and it definitely improves the ride stability. I have a 6.v' bed on my truck, and commonly don't accept any issues with interference with the gooseneck. Have a Primus brake controller and don't have any problems stopping, and trailer doesn't push me. If you accept a 5.5' box, I practice believe I would go the extension.....

I idea the new Shadow gooseneck with LQtrs was designed to be pulled by a 1/2 ton truck.  That is what all the ads show.

Is this true?

It is truthful. I wrote the wrong numbers down before. The ane/2 ton truck is the one in the ad for the Stablemate Liveing Quarter.
